YMCA of Northern Utah
Join us at YMCA Camp Roger for a day of volunteering to help reset the trails and area around camp and turn over cabins to get ready for a busy Summer! YMCA Camp Roger aims to be a place where campers come to experience a fun, challenge-by-choice environment where they are supported by individuals who keep them safe at all times. Your work will help us to ensure we are meeting this goal as you assist our Camp Director with trail and brush clearing, firewood prep, and getting Camp Roger ready for the incoming campers! Date & Time: Friday, May 15th from 1 PM - 5 PM (If you can't stay the full time, you're still welcome to come - We'd love whatever help you're able to give!) Children ages 13+ are welcome to volunteer as long as they're accompanied by a guardian. Guardians should create a Volunteer Matters account for the child/children and sign up on their behalf. Please wear pants and closed-toed shoes. If you have work gloves you like, please bring those as well. Additional written directions to YMCA Camp Roger will be sent out to all volunteers before the volunteer experience. Help us celebrate our littlest graduates by volunteering at our Taylorsville Preschool Graduation on Thursday, May 21st from 9 AM to 12:30 PM (event from 11 AM to 12 PM with set up and clean up before and after)! Volunteers will assist with chair set up, decorations, food serving, cheering for each graduate, and event clean up (plus you'll get to watch super cute preschoolers performing songs and walking across the stage to receive their diplomas).

Do you have an administrative or professional skillset you’d like to contribute to the YMCA? Utilize your skills to assist the Y with tasks such as accounting, proofreading, graphic design, photography, contract review, and more! Volunteers may assist with one-time projects, ongoing projects, or on an as-needed basis. Remote volunteer opportunities available, depending on project! In YMCA Afterschool Programs, we’re dedicated to providing a safe, enriching environment where children can thrive outside of school hours. Our Afterschool Programs combine dedicated homework time, enrichment activities, and playtime to create the perfect environment for kids to learn, grow, and thrive. Most importantly, our programs foster academic success, physical well-being, and social development in a fun and supportive setting! As an Afterschool Program Volunteer, you’ll assist YMCA staff in providing homework help, playing games, organizing fun activities, and ensuring all program participants are learning, growing, and thriving! Schedule – Our Afterschool Programs run Monday through Friday from around 3 PM to 6 PM, depending on location. Flexible scheduling – we’ll work with you to determine a volunteer schedule based on your availability! Program Participants – Our elementary afterschool program participants are ages 5 – 11 and our junior high afterschool program (Teen Club) participants are ages 11 – 14. Do you have a skill you’d like to share with our youth program participants? Volunteer to teach skills/activities like dance, art, STEM, chess, sports, and more to children who are eager to learn! Schedule – We have school year and summer Youth Programs that run Monday through Friday from around 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, depending on the program and location. Flexible scheduling – we’ll work with you to determine a volunteer schedule based on your availability! Program Participants – Our program participants range in age from 2 – 14, depending on location and program type, including Preschool Programs, Afterschool Programs, and Summer Day Camp Programs.
